AT THE PEABODY ORLANDO – EIGHT SPARKLING DIAMONDS MARK 17 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

ORLANDO, FLA. -- April 5, 2004--

For the seventeenth consecutive year, The Peabody Orlando has won AAA’s Four Diamond Award for the quality of the hotel, it services and facilities. In addition, in a separate category, Dux, the hotel’s signature restaurant also received AAA’s Four Diamond Award for the fifteenth consecutive year. This double AAA Four-Diamond rating means that both hotel and restaurant are outstanding in every way.

“Only 3.25 percent of the 49,000 AAA-rated lodgings and restaurants attain Four Diamond level of excellence,” said Alan C. Villaverde, vice president/general manager of the 891-room, 57,000 sq. ft. hotel, strategically located in the midst of the 3-million sq. ft. Orange County Convention Center complex on International Drive.

"More than ever this rating is of extreme importance to a hotel such as The Peabody Orlando,” said Marshall Kelberman, director of rooms, “because standards are being raised higher and higher each year. We are totally focused on providing consistent, top-quality service, 24-hours-a-day, and pride ourselves in our impeccable housekeeping and truly outstanding food." Our AAA Four Diamond award is of enormous value to our hotel because today’s discerning traveler, whether a corporate or association executive, or the family/leisure traveler, rely on these ratings as credible references in choosing a meeting venue, or a great place for the family to stay.”

AAA’s team of 65 full-time professional field inspectors visits more than 70,000 lodgings, campgrounds, restaurants and attractions every year. These inspectors conduct unannounced evaluations, assigning a rating of one to five diamonds to qualifying establishments in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The Peabody Orlando associates are ready at all times for the “white glove” inspection. “We maintain Level Ten+ service at all times, because we want our guests always to walk into a guestroom that is simply spotless and beautiful,” said Pat Baird, executive housekeeper for the luxury hotel. “So, when the inspectors come calling, they see our hotel as it always is: sparkling.”

The Peabody Orlando is a property of Peabody Hotel Group, the Memphis, Tennessee-based hotel company which owns and operates eleven properties, including The Peabody Memphis, the South's Grand Hotel and The Peabody Little Rock. The Peabody Orlando is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
