MAUREENBRIGID GONZALEZ

Ms Gonzalez, a native of Dublin , Ireland , was educated in Dublin and Cambridge , U.K. , and has an advanced degree in English literature. She began her travel/tourism career in the marketing department of the Irish Tourist Board in Dublin . Subsequently, she worked in external development at the Imperial College of Science & Technology, University of London . She served The United Nations in Geneva , Switzerland with the World Health Organization, GATT, and the ILO, and Unesco in Paris , France , where she was involved in communications projects for Third World nations funded by various European countries.

In the years prior to joining The Peabody Orlando, Ms Gonzalez was director of public relations for La Costa Resort and Spa, Carlsbad , CA . She has appeared on TV travel shows all over the world, and her travel, arts and culture text-and-photo features have appeared in such publications as The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The San Diego Union, Marie Claire, The Robb Report and in more than 70 newspapers and magazines around the world.

She is married to American foreign correspondent and SATW (Society of American Travel Writers) past-president, Arky Gonzalez.
