Gregg Herning joined The Peabody family in 2001 as the director of sales and marketing at The Peabody Memphis.  He later went on to become the general manager of The Peabody Little Rock in 2004, where he held this role for six years.  In March 2010, Herning was appointed to vice president of sales and marketing for Peabody Hotels, where he oversees the sales and marketing functions for the three Peabody Hotels, including direct responsibility for the Orlando property's $450 million expansion in 2010.

Herning began his hotel career at the Royal d'lberville Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he focused on hotel sales, national account management and general hotel management.  Stints with Westin Hotels, Western Hospitality Inns and Garland Resort & Garland Development followed, leading to his first position at the history Peabody Memphis.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Herning holds a degree in business management from Phillips College of Business in Gulfport, Mississippi.  He is a member of Meeting Planners International, and has served on numerous industry advisory boards.
